Personal Information (PI) we collect from a candidate in connection with their job application includes the categories listed below.

Personal Information (PI) we may collect about candidates from other sources where permitted and in accordance with applicable law.

If you provide us with personal information of another person, for example a referral, you are responsible for ensuring that such person is made aware of the information contained in this Privacy Notice and that the person has given you his/her consent for sharing the information with RL Canning.

Any information you submit must be true, complete and not misleading. Submitting inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information may make you ineligible for employment.

We will process your personal information for management and recruitment purposes as listed below.

• Managing prospective client engagement.
• To facilitate communication, responding to your inquiry for services.
• Management and administration of your job application.
• Assessing your suitability for the role for which you are applying as well as future roles that may become available.
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

What is the Legal Basis for Processing?

RL Canning will process personal information where it has a legitimate interest, necessary for a prospective employment contract or required by law. Legitimate interest means for a given purpose, we are of the opinion that our legitimate interests are not overridden by your interests, rights or freedoms, given the transparency we provide on the processing activity.

To comply with or monitor compliance with applicable laws or regulations.	Necessary to comply with RL Canning’s legal obligations as a business entity. Necessary for RL Canning’s legitimate interest to protect the rights and interests of RL Canning, our employees, candidates and others.

We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes of which you have been informed, unless it is required or authorized by law, or it is in your own vital interest, for example in case of a medical emergency to do so.

When Do We Share Personal Information?

Access to your personal information is restricted to only authorized RL Canning personnel and third-party service providers who need it for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice.

We may share your personal information in the manner and for the purposes described below:

• Third-party service providers: Your personal information may be stored with our third-party service providers who have been retained to provide that service. RL Canning does not sell or make personal information available to our third-party providers.
• RL Canning Entities: Due to the global nature of RL Canning’s business, personal information may be shared, disclosed and transferred between the various RL Canning entities where such transfers are required for legitimate business reasons. Personal information may be shared with RL Canning recruiters, hiring managers, talent managers and management which may be in other countries than the country where the position applied for is based.
• Legal obligations: We may disclose your personal information where required to comply with the law.
• Vital interests: We may disclose your personal information where necessary to protect your vital interests or those of another person.

How Do We Share Personal Information?

We will store your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. To determine the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal information, the purposes for which we process it and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means.

In some circumstances we may store your personal information for longer periods of time, for instance where we are required to do so in accordance with legal or regulatory accounting requirements. In specific circumstances we may store your personal information for longer periods of time so that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges, or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your personal information or dealings.

We will securely delete or destroy your personal information once the defined retention period expires.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information. This is a security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

Different laws may prevent us from providing access to your personal information or otherwise fully comply with your request depending upon the circumstances and the request, For example, where producing your personal information may reveal the identity of someone else or where you request your personal information be deleted, yet we are legally required to retain it according to strict record retention schedules.

We reserve the right to deny your requests if found to be manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive. If you have unresolved concerns, you have the right to report them to your local privacy regulator or other information protection authority.

Use of Site by Minors

Our website is not designed for or directed at children 18 years of age or younger, and we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information about anyone under this age.

Do Not Track

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
